Dois guardas egípcios foram mortos na fronteira com a Faixa de Gaza. O incidente aconteceu numa altura em que cerca de 300 palestinianos invadiam território egípcio.

The gunmen who attacked the border at Rafah were renegade members of the al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades group, Fatah's armed wing. They were demanding the release of a comrade who was arrested on suspicion of kidnapping three Britons last week.(...)
Before breaking through the barricade, the gunmen occupied several government offices in Rafah and ordered travellers to leave the town's EU-controlled border terminal.

The gunmen detonated a bomb under a barrier along the Gaza-Egypt and threatened to arrest any Palestinian Authority officials who attempted to cross the border.

They said they allowed the terminal to reopen after security forces told them where their leader was being detained but said they would prevent citizens in Rafah in forthcoming elections unless Palestinian security forces freed their leader.
