BRITISH truckers are furious over an EU law that bans overtime from today — slashing their pay by £80 a week.
The Brussels ruling cuts their average 55-hour week to 48 and is set to force hundreds of drivers out of the industry.
Kate Gibbs of the Road Haulage Association said: “The knock-on effect will be quite phenomenal.
“We are predicting a massive driver shortage because overtime has always been a key attraction of the job. The new law will mean a substantial wage cut for some.”
