Ainda no mesmo programa um espectador questionou Chirac acerca da razão do desemprego no Reino Unido ser inferior ao da França (cerca de metade). A réplica de Chirac não podia ser mais esclarecedora: a legislação laboral do RU nunca seria aceite pelos franceses! Independentemente das consequências...
Já o candidato à sucessão de Chirac pelo centro-direita, Nicolas Sarkozy, vê a questão de outra forma:
